Why is it that even when we really want something, we plan, we do so well at first, but we can't stay motivated? That is where I was for awhile. I knew what I should be doing, what I need to do, but I'm just wasn't getting it done. I know I deserve this, I know I can do this, I just didn't want to! Well, I can now say that while my journey is going to be a little different, I am at it again with new vigor!
One week ago, I restarted my weight loss journey at 279.7 pounds. Up about ten pounds from my lowest with Paleo. Today, I am happy to say I am 11.3 pounds lighter weighing in at 268.4! I realize while it is a lot of water weight, it is still gone! I am so excited!
So, what am I doing? I have switched to the Ideal Protein Protocol, and I couldn't be happier! Basically it is some pre-packaged foods mixed with some of my own. So, why am I back to blogging about it? Because I noticed, while looking for true stories about the diet, that there were not many out there. I want this to be a place that someone can come and follow and truly learn what it is like to be on this diet.
My Week One Experience: (IP = Ideal Protein)
Day 1 - After breakfast, I felt a bit nauseous, and light headed. Later, I felt very hot and sweaty. I am beginning to wonder if this is just me still getting over being sick, or something in the food or supplements. I felt the same nauseous feeling after lunch, it's not bad and I can deal with it. I've had a very difficult time eating all my food.
Day 2 - I expected to wake up with the headache that most people complain about this morning, but other than some mild ache in my calves, I feel great! So far I would say the food is "OK", nothing to write home about, but doable. The soups and drinks do have a bit of a chalky texture, and leave a bit of an aftertaste.
Day 3 - My biggest surprise is that I feel great!! I was told that by the third day I would probably not feel well, but I feel just fine. I do have a nasty sour/metallic taste in my mouth that will not go away! Come to find out, I think that means I am in Ketosis!! Yay! I am a fat burning machine!
Day 4 - I have decided since I get a little hungry between lunch and dinner, I will move my snack to about 330. I don't usually want it after dinner anyway. We'll see how that goes.
Day 5 - Today I realized that I forgot to take some of my supplements yesterday, whoops! Oh! and work surprised me with a bonus check yesterday, so I am buying my next months worth of food already! I am so excited, and feeling so wonderful!
Day 6 - That strange metallic taste I had in my mouth seems gone today. I hope that doesn't mean I have fallen out of Kestosis! One more full day and then I will get to weigh in! I am so excited!
Day 7 - Water, water, water... I must drink more water! I picked up some Mio Fit today, hopefully that will help me get the water down! Weigh in tomorrow!!
I don't know that this will be the way I talk about my diet every week, I just really wanted to get that first week out there in case someone wanted to see how it was. I truly had an easy first week, and am finding this to be a simple and easy to follow plan!
